The singer released her debut single, Here, in 2015 when she was 19 years old. It was a hugely acclaimed track by both critics and the public. The song reached the top spot in both Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it one of the best songs of 2015. It was the same time when she debuted Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful, one of her five original tracks featured on the Billboard Charts which include Billboard Hot 100 for Canada as well as Billboard 200 for the Canadian Albums Charts. The song was particularly memorable due to her interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners were inspired by her story of doubting herself and learning how to accept herself. Cara is known for her messages on mental health, kindness and self-love in her music. The music she sings is reflective of her personal struggle in dealing with anxiety and depression. Reuters stated that she calls the album "half chaotic, but half done". She found growth through therapy and advises people to seek assistance if needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th of July 1996. Her first guitar was purchased by her parents when she was 10, which ignited her musical passion. She started covering her favourite songs at age 13, to prove to that world that she could sing and had the courage necessary to be the next singer. Indeed one of the covers Sweater Weather ended up getting noticed by a label known as EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and create her songs.
